The Validation Breakthrough: A Naomi Feil Workshop

Thursday, May 24, 2018

This workshop is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and learn from Dementia / Alzheimer’s Expert Naomi Feil on how to utilize Validation to successfully communicate with and reach cognitively impaired individuals.

Join Naomi Feil, M.S., A.C.S.W., noted author, teacher and lecturer as she shares simple validation techniques to support elderly persons with Alzheimer's-type Dementia. The process is a compassionate and effective approach to supporting disoriented people.

Everyone whose heard Naomi calls her amazing. She has dedicated her adult life to this work.

Through Validation, older persons who may retreat into fantasy or become confused are brought closer to reality and security. The method helps people reduce stress and enhance dignity and happiness. The Validation method works as it accepts the feelings of other persons and reaches out to them with empathy and compassion.

This workshop is offered at no charge and is designed for health and human service workers, families and volunteers who want to learn how to communicate with persons with Alzheimer’s-type dementia.

Hosted by the Alamo Caregiver Support Coalition, with mmLearn.org as the presenting sponsor.
