Basic Telecommunications Certification Course

Effective January 1, 2014, this training is now a licensing course required of all new telecommunication specialists. The course must be completed within one year of hire by an agency. Participants must meet state minimum standards set forth by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), pass the course, and pass the TCOLE state exam in order to become licensed.

This licensing course can now be attended by the general public and by individuals who have already been hired by a police agency. It is recommended to complete TCIC/NCIC and NIMS classes before this class. TCIC/NCIC Classes will be held the week before the Basic Telecommunications Class. Check our catalog for class dates. * Before registering for the Basic Telecommunicators Course, Individuals must begin the process by first taking the AACOG Entrance Exam.
