Newly Elected Officials Workshop
AACOG will offer the next annual Newly Elected Officials Workshop on June 13, 2017. Click here for more information.
The workshop is targeted for newly elected mayors and city council members or alderman; however, any and all elected officials and city staff are welcome to attend. The workshop gives an overview of the structure of city government, council procedures and actions, roles of elected and appointed staff, duties and responsibilities of boards and commissions, municipal annexation and boundary changes, open meetings, open records, and ethics. The workshops have proven to be very valuable to appointed staff and to citizen board, commission, and committee members as well.
