8th Annual Scenic Hills Cruise On Saturday, October 18, 2008, members of more than a dozen area car clubs will embark on AACOG’s eighth annual Scenic Hills Cruise. From 8 to 9 a.m., cruise participants will convene at the Rim (at Exit 554 on I10) parking lot to the left front of the Bass Pro Shop. Many diverse and fun stops will be welcoming scenic cruisers this year. Breath-taking vistas and old-fashioned, historic-community hospitality are among the attractions for participants. This year’s hospitality stops include: the Kendalia General Store, Floore’s Country Store in Helotes, the Kerr Arts & Crafts Center in downtown Kerrville, the Love Creek Store in Medina, the picturesque Joshua Creek Hunting Club near Welfare, and the Camp Verde Store at the base of Bandera Pass near where the Army once unsuccessfully gave camels a try (Camp Verde). Additionally, the Bandera Convention and Visitors Bureau will host a western-style welcome in the Plaza, and Boerne’s hospitality stop for cruisers will be at the Boerne Visitor and Convention Bureau in an historic homestead on South Main Street. Other stops this year include Koyote Ranch (on Hwy 16 near Eagle’s Nest switch-back), the Texas Historical Furniture Museum in New Braunfels, and tours of the magnificent, water-carved Gorge at Canyon Lake. Encompassing an area sometimes called the “Texas Alps,” the Scenic Hills Cruise offers special driving treats. Pictures from 2006 Scenic Hills Cruise For more information, contact:
