SCAN USA comes to the AACOG Region |

This year marks the second of three important years of record
for ozone numbers. In spring of 2008, the Environmental
Protection Agency will again judge our region for compliance
with federal clean air law.
To keep our region better informed
during the upcoming Ozone Season, AACOG and the City of San
Antonio have partnered with AT&T to bring SCAN USA to the AACOG
region. Through SCAN USA, we will be able to not only fax and
email citizens Air Quality Health Alerts, we will also be able
to submit text messages to cell phones, pagers, and online
message services.
To kickoff both Ozone Season and this
partnership, a press conference will be held on March 24, 10
a.m. at the Main Plaza (across from Municipal Plaza, 100 W.
Commerce). Officials will discuss voluntary pollution
preventative measures to encourage citizens to make clean air
choices especially on air quality health alert days.
