Learn more about the media production industries of Texas - learn how to get your community Film Friendly certified - and learn how to take your community's Film Friendly status to the next level by attending the Film Friendly Texas Workshop being held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in San Antonio, TX. Established in 2007, the Texas Film Commission's Film Friendly Texas program provides ongoing training and guidance regarding media industry standards, best practices and how to effectively accommodate on-location filming activity in their community.

Certification in the Film Friendly Texas program provides production companies with increased assurance that communities are industry-savvy and sends a clear message to media industry professionals that communities are serious about attracting their business.

The fee for the workshop is $99 (per person) and this is the only fee for participation in the Film Friendly Texas program. Multiple representatives from your community are welcome and encouraged to attend. This one day workshop will provide panel discussions with industry professionals addressing topics such as:

  • An overview of the Texas media production industries
  • Film as an Economic & Community Development opportunity for your community
  • How filming locations are chosen
  • What to expect when working with different types of media productions
  • How to create effective filming guidelines and permit systems for your community
  • How to facilitate and expedite filming inquiries
  • Use of public property for filming locations
  • Understanding location agreements, production insurance and neighbor notification documents
  • Film festivals, film screenings and film tourism opportunities for your community
  • Film Friendly Certified community Case Studies

Registration is limited to 50 attendees. Continental breakfast and lunch are included in the cost of attendance.
