  • Program Name: CPS Windtricity Program

  • Program Description: Windtricity™ is a voluntary renewable energy option for CPS customers to purchase electricity generated by wind-powered turbines in West Texas. Windtricity is available to all retail customers in good credit standing with CPS. It is sold in 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) increments or "blocks" of energy.

  • Participation Eligibility & Requirements: Windtricity has no long-term contracts. You may increase or decrease the amount of wind power you purchase, cancel your membership, subscribe or re-subscribe at any time.

  • Reduction Methodology: Decreases reliance on fossil fuels to generate power.

  • Costs: Decreases reliance on fossil fuels to generate power.

  • Benefits: Offsets the additional cost of wind generation relative to fossil fuel-based plants, and helps to support CPS' future efforts to promote renewable energy.
