How to Enroll in an In-Service Course 

Students may enroll for In-Service courses on-line, via fax or in person.  Telephone enrollment is no longer accepted. 

On-Line Enrollment – Find the course(s) you are interested in.  You can then complete the registration form on-line and submit it at that time. 

Fax Enrollment – can be accomplished by filling out the registration form and faxing it to (210) 824-5881.   

In Person Enrollment – can be accomplished by completing the registration form, and visiting us at 8700 Tesoro Drive, Sixth Floor.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Payment – may be made in advance or on the first day of class via check, money order, or invoicing of your Agency.  CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED.  NOTE:  All mandated courses are on a pre-pay only basis.

Cancellation – Students must notify the Academy no later than the Thursday of the week prior to the first day of class if they are unable to attend.  Failure to give timely notification will result in the student or Agency being invoiced for the cost of tuition.  To notify the Academy of the need to cancel your registration call (210) 362-5291 or e-mail dhaby@aacog.com.

Firearms/Tactical Driving/Defensive Tactics Courses – are open only to Law Enforcement officers. Students are required to provide a copy of their Photo Law Enforcement Agency Identification, or a copy of their drivers’ license and their Basic Peace Officers/Jailers License.

Basic Instructor – the Basic Instructor course requires all law enforcement officers to provide a copy of their photo Law Enforcement Agency Identification, or a copy of their drivers’ license and their Basic Peace Officers/Jailers License. 

All non-law enforcement applicants must submit the following at their own expense.

  • Photo copy of your drivers license
  • A TCIC/NCIC criminal history check that indicates clearance
  • Documentation that describes your “area of specialty”

This documentation must include what you will teach, and why you are qualified to teach it. 

NOTE:  Dress code for the Basic Instructor course is “business casual.”  Blue jeans, shorts, or other casual attire will not be permitted.  Each student is required to present a professional appearance.
