Welcome to the Alamo Area Council of Governments Regional Law Enforcement Academy web site. For more than thirty years, the AACOG Regional Law Enforcement Academy has provided training for the police, corrections, and telecommunications professionals of the Alamo Area. We are proud of that fact, and fully understand the importance of having a well-trained and educated population of law enforcement professionals, ready to serve our communities. From the hill country to the brush country, from Hondo to Fredericksburg, and indeed across the great state of Texas there are law enforcement officers protecting our homeland who have started their professional journey at the AACOG Academy.  

If you walk our halls, sit in our classrooms, or stand at the ready on the range with us, you will most likely notice that we see ourselves as more than just training providers. We are law enforcement professionals who want to serve those who would enter our ranks, or who would better their skills from within our ranks. We stand ready to share that which we have learned through years of education, training and experience, and to learn from you in the process. Above all, we see ourselves as servant leaders who have a responsibility to ensure that the best of law enforcement training is provided to the Alamo Area. 

I invite each of you to join us in our vision of creating a region in which law enforcement professionals set the trend for excellence in service to our communities. If you’re thinking of becoming a Texas peace officer, check out our Academies. If you are a peace officer and want to better yourself as a professional, take part in some of our in-service training opportunities. If you have the knowledge, specialized experience and desire to teach, apply to join the ranks of our corps of instructors. However you chose to interact with us, we stand ready to assist. Most of all, remember that we are your Regional Law Enforcement Academy.
