On-Line Enrollment

Payment

may be made in advance or on the first day of class via check,
money order, or invoicing of your Agency. CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED.
Note: All mandated courses are on a pre-pay only basis.
Cancellation
- Students must notify the Academy no later than the Thursday
of the week prior to the first day of class if they are unable to attend.
Failure to give timely notification will result in the student or Agency being
invoiced for the cost of tuition. To notify the Academy of the need to

Firearms/Tactical Driving/Defensive Tactics Courses

are open only to Law
Enforcement officers. Students are required to provide a copy of their
Photo Law Enforcement Agency Identification, or a copy of their drivers' license
and their Basic Peace Officers/Jailers License.
Basic Instructor
-
the Basic Instructor course requires all law enforcement
officers to provide a copy of their photo Law Enforcement Agency Identification,
or a copy of their drivers' license and their Basic Peace Officers/Jailers
License.
All
non-law enforcement applicants must submit the following at their own expense.

Photo copy of your drivers license

A
TCIC/NCIC criminal history check that indicates clearance

Documentation that describes your "area of specialty"
This
documentation must include what you will teach, and why you are qualified to
teach it.
Note:
Dress code for the Basic Instructor course is "business casual".
Blue jeans, shorts, or other casual attire will not be permitted. Each
student is required to present a professional appearance.

Students are expected to attend all class
sessions. Students must have 95 percent attendance or better to receive a
Certificate of Completion. Class will begin promptly at the time indicated in
the schedule.

Administrative and practical considerations require a minimum of ten (10)
students to provide a given class. Therefore, if fewer than 10 students are
enrolled one week prior to a class start date, the class may be subject to
cancellation or rescheduling.
If a class is canceled, or a revision to the
time/date/location is made, every effort will be made to notify the students by
telephone prior to the first class meeting. The Alamo Area Law Enforcement
Academy reserves the right to cancel any class, or to revise any
time/date/location/instructor.

Enrollment may be canceled without penalty if a
written or telephone notification is received by the Academy office no later
than 4:45 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the scheduled class. Failure to notify the Academy of
withdrawal will cause you or your agency to be invoiced for the entire tuition
regardless of attendance.

All courses coded # 2105, 2106, 2107, 2108 meet
the requirements for Intermediate Peace Officer License Training for Officers
who obtained their Basic Peace Officer License on or after January 1, 1987.
All courses coded # 3501, 3502, 3503, 3504 meet
the requirements for Intermediate Jailer License Training for Correction
officers who obtained their Basic Jailers License after March 1, 1993.

The Academy has implemented Training on Request
program. We can respond to your training needs if you have 10 or more students
needing the same type of training. Please contact the Academy office for more

The Academy can report the training hours for
your in-service. Contact the Academy for details and a reporting packet.

An end-of-course examination is mandatory for
all courses conducted by the Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy.
Students must achieve a score of 80 percent or better on course examination to
receive a Certificate of Completion. Some Instructor and Advanced Instructor
courses may require a higher percent to complete the course.

The Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy
does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin,

The Alamo Area Regional Law
Enforcement Academy trains only commissioned Texas Peace Officers as defined by
the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE),
and other persons working for or sponsored by Texas Criminal Justice Agencies,
Public Safety Agencies, Private, County, State, Federal Correctional Institutes,
or other enforcement agencies as defined by statutes.
