Membership Opportunities

The following representative seats are vacant. The Planning Council is currently recruiting and accepting applications for the following vacancies:

  • State of Texas Medicaid Program Representative

The Membership/Nominations/Elections (MNE) Committee is responsible for ensuring that the ethnicity of the Planning Council reflects the HIV prevalence in the Eligible Metropolitan Area, comprised of Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, and Wilson Counties. All eligible candidates will be interviewed. The membership term is for two years or the remaining months of a vacant term.

Appointment requirements:

  • Attend monthly Council meetings
  • Actively participate, in at least one (1) standing committee
  • Willing to learn to make a difference
  • A time commitment of 2-10 hours a month

If you are unable to commit to serving as a Member, Advisor opportunities are also available. An Advisor refers to a person who has been duly appointed by the Planning Council Co-Chairs to actively participate in meetings of the Planning Council without the right to vote, and may serve on any standing committee with or without voting rights within those venues (dependant on standing committee membership requirements). An individual may be appointed as an Advisor when the MNE Committee recommends an applicant due to some specific expertise or potentially significant contribution.
