AACOG has the capability to do what-if scenario growth modeling for your
community, neighborhood, or development using the Smart Growth Index Model.
Some of the indicators the model measures include:
- Land use mix and land use balance
- Street connectivity and adjacency to amenities
- Student enrollment levels
- Jobs to housing balance
- Storm water runoff and impervious surfaces
- Parking requirements
- Water and energy consumption
- Employment and population densities.
Over the years, AACOG's Regional Data Center has worked on GIS and special
projects ranging from small area demographic studies to GIS related training and
data services. We have provided products and services to many of our
member governments as well as non-members including GIS software training.
