Car Care Fact of the Week

title

Hey Kids!

Did you know that you can clean our air just by being a kid?

  • Instead of having your Mom and Dad drive you on short trips, ride your bike, walk, or skate! This will give you exercise and help reduce air pollution.
  • Help your parents start a SchoolPool so you can spend more time with your buds while helping the air keep clean. Your parents can also fill out this online form to request a SchoolPool program at your school or they can call (210) C-A-R-P-O-O-L for more information.
  • Try using products made from recycled materials (i.e. paper).
  • Paint with water-based paints. "Oil-based paints contain three to five times more smog-forming chemicals than water-based paints."*
  • Reduce, re-use, recycle and re-think.
  • Don't waste electricity! Turn off the lights, TV, computer, and radio.
