Congratulations to the 2017 Walk & Roll Challenge winners!


This May, the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) organized the twelfth annual Walk & Roll Challenge, encouraging individuals and employers across the San Antonio – New Braunfels area to take and support alternative transportation.

In coordination with the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Walk & Roll program and in support of improved air quality, the month-long Challenge encourages participants to carpool, vanpool, ride the bus, walk, bike, or telecommute and record their trips on NuRide.com from May 1 to 31 to get rewards and prizes. 

Best Newcomer: Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson LLC

Most Improved: City of Leon Valley

"Smartest" Organization: Southwest Research Institute

Other participants included the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, Alamo Colleges, Bexar County, City of San Antonio, CPS Energy, Joint Base San Antonio, Lake Flato Architects, San Antonio Express News, SA2020, San Antonio Housing Authority, San Antonio River Authority, San Antonio Water System, Texas Department of Transportation (San Antonio),  USAA, UT Health San Antonio, and VIA Metropolitan Transit. 

Participants and award recipients will be recognized at the AACOG Board of Directors meeting on June 28, 2017.
