Diesel Emissions Reduction Act National Grants Coming Soon!

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is excited to announce the upcoming availability of approximately $44 million in Diesel Emission Reduction Program (DERA) grant funds to support projects aimed at reducing emissions from the nation's existing fleet of older diesel engines. Under this competition, between 40 and 60 awards are anticipated to be made to eligible applicants.  The anticipated opening date for this DERA grant is December 9.

The EPA will be holding informational webinars on the 2020 Request for Applications for DERA National Grants, covering such topics as:

  • Program details;
  • Changes this year;
  • Eligible entities, projects, vehicles, engines, and equipment;
  • Funding availability, project funding percentage, and restrictions;
  • Proposal submission;
  • Evaluation criteria;
  • Potential pitfalls;
  • Tools, resources, and support; and
  • Question and answer period.

The EPA will be hosting these webinars on the following dates (click the link next to the date/time to join the webinar):

You may also dial into the webinar at 202-991-0477 using participant code 4149804#.

Unlike state incentive programs, DERA grants are only open for about 2 months at a time, so it would be to your advantage to attend the earliest webinar.  Another email will be sent out on December 9, or when the DERA grant round opens, with more information, including a link to the Request for Applications.  Stay tuned!
