PUBLIC NOTICE

The Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG), and its partners the City of San Antonio, Bexar County and the San Antonio River Authority will hold a series of Public Hearings in connection with the development of the AACOG Regional Hazard Mitigation Action Plan.  This planning project, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, is designed to reduce future damage from natural disasters, streamline the disaster recovery process, and capitalize on Federal funding.  The Regional Mitigation Action Plan help localities maintain their eligibility for FEMA funding for any disaster event that may occur after November 1, 2004.

The Public Meetings are designed to brief local residents on the results of the risk assessment and to provide the opportunity for the public to have input on the identified hazards and the actions being recommended to mitigate the impact of those hazards.
