Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy to
offer Training
on Law Enforcement Interaction with Diverse Cultures after 9-11
San Antonio, August 28, 2003 – On September 10-11, 2003, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy will offer a training course on Law Enforcement Interaction with Diverse Cultures after 9-11. The Community Relations Service of the U.S. Department of Justice, the F.B.I. and the U.S. Attorney will teach the course, which will be held at the Academy located at 8700 Tesoro, Suite 600, San Antonio, Texas 78217.
Topics for this training will include: Post 9-11 – A Federal Law Enforcement Perspective, Hate Crimes Post 9-11, Working with the Muslim Community, Racial Profiling Post 9-11, and Minimizing Civil Liabilities. Also beginning in September, the Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy will be introducing a new branch of training. Courses will be offered on various topics related to homeland security and emergency preparedness.
