Governor Names Kerr County Judge Pat Tinley to Chair Regional Review Committee 

 

San Antonio, February 25, 2005 – Governor Rick Perry has appointed Kerr County Judge Pat Tinley as the Chair of the Alamo Area Council of Governments’ Regional Review Committee.  The Regional Review Committee is comprised of twelve elected officials from the twelve-county AACOG region whose purpose is to assist the Texas Office of Rural Community Affairs in reviewing applications and recommending awards of $250,000, which address critical community development needs in eligible cities and counties.

Judge Tinley pursued his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Texas and West Texas State College, now West Texas A&M University.  He obtained his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law, graduating in the top 5% of his class and has practiced law in Kerr County and the Hill Country for more than 35 years.  In addition, Tinley served for more than 25 years as both an enlisted member and commissioned officer in various reserve components of the United States Army before being elected Kerr County Judge in 2002.  In addition to being the presiding officer of the Kerr County Commissioners’ Court and participating in the policy decisions affecting Kerr County, Judge Tinley is also the budget officer of the County, serves as Chairman of the Kerr County Juvenile Board, and is the presiding judge of the Probate, Mental Health and Juvenile dockets of Kerr County.  Judge Tinley and his wife, Betsy, have six children and six grandchildren.
