BLAZING THE TRAIL… TO AGING TEXAS WELL

2005 Texas Conference on Aging
San Antonio, Texas
April 24-27, 2005

San Antonio-We are “Blazing the Trail… to Aging Texas Well!” at the 2005 Texas Conference on Aging that will be held April 24, 2005, through April 27, 2005, at the Omni Hotel in San Antonio, Texas.  The Texas Conference on Aging is the premier state conference devoted exclusively to successful aging and effective service delivery for mid-life and older adults.

This will be the 24th conference sponsored jointly by the Texas Association of Area Agencies on Aging, the Department of Aging and Disability Services, A.A.R.P. and the Texas Association of Aging Programs.   At this year’s conference you will be invited to choose from 29 workshops offering a variety of education opportunities.  With stimulating workshops, motivational plenary sessions, and numerous networking opportunities, this year’s conference is sure to engage and inspire.

“The Texas Conference on Aging is a wonderful opportunity to network with others who are serving older Texans. I always learn something from the people I meet,” said Glenda Rogers, Director of Capital Area Agency on Aging, one of the conference organizers.  We invite all professionals, service providers, marketers, students, and others interested in the field of aging to participate as exhibitors, sponsors, and registrants.

Awards will be presented for outstanding contributions made in the field of aging.  These awards include the Cornerstone Award, Aging Texas Well Award, Scholarship Award and the Professional Award.  Learn more about the awards on our website.

Other interests include a Pre-Conference Symposium for the Texas Mental Health and Aging Coalition on April 24, 2005.  You will gain an understanding of mental health among older adults through presentation by experts in the field of mental health.

This is a conference you will not want to miss, and the first Texas Conference on Aging to be held in San Antonio.  “I’m excited that the San Antonio will be able to showcase our community to the rest of the state and that more of our local aging network can benefit from the wide range of topics and presenters,” said Debbie Billa, Director of the Bexar Area Agency on Aging.

Enjoy educational and networking opportunities during the day and during the evening you’ll have the freedom to stroll the River Walk and enjoy the beautiful city of San Antonio.  For more information visit our website www.texasconferenceonaging.org.
