Call a Ride for Vets

The Alamo Call-A-Ride 4 Vets program is a transportation and mobility assistance program funded by the Texas Veterans Commission, Fund for Veterans' Assistance program.

The Alamo Call-A-Ride 4 Vets program is proud to have provided over 6000 rides to Veterans and their family members in the AACOG region during the 2016-2017 grant year!

We have now expended all of the available funding for this program and we are unable to accept any more requests for rides at this time.

We are hopeful that the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Fund for Veterans' Assistance will accept our proposal to continue to serve our Veterans by providing transportation services during the upcoming grant year. Please check back with us in mid-June to see if rides will be available starting in July, 2017.

Thank you for your interest and continued support of this program.

Who Qualifies?

Any honorably discharged Veteran, their immediate family (spouse, under 18 family member, or disabled adult in the home), surviving spouse, and/or caregiver of a Veteran are eligible to receive FREE rides.

What can Alamo Call-A-Ride 4 Vets do for me?

This program provides rides to eligible Veterans, their dependents and surviving spouses throughout the 13 county AACOG service area.

The program provides rides to medical appointments, grocery & pharmacy trips, and trips to social and religious events to improve the quality of life for our Veterans and their families. This is a limited rides program but also serves to connect Veterans and their families with other transportation resources in their local area.

This program is supported by a grant from the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. The Fund for Veterans’ Assistance provides grants to organizations serving Texas Veterans and their families. For more information, go to
